Music plays an integral part of the overall ministry of Columbia First United Methodist Church. Led by Mr. Thomas Vann, there are several choirs that help to celebrate God's love and lead us in our worship of him. The Chancel Choir sings during our 11:00 AM service and our Sanctuary choir can be heard during the 8:30 service at various times throughout the year.
On several occasions our children's and Youth choirs add their own special arrangements that bring a smile to the face of all parents and certainly the face of God as they lead us in worship.

Sanctuary Choir The Sanctuary Choir meets each Sunday morning from 9:40 to 10am. The choir sings twice per month for our 8:30am Sunday morning service. This small, but robust, choir sings contemporary settings of familiar tunes and original material. If you have a love of singing and attend our early service on Sundays, you are welcomed to join us!
Chancel Choir The Chancel Choir provides support of our singing during our 11am service. They prepare and perform a special anthem for each Sunday. Two to three times per year, the choir presents a major work or cantata for Christmas and Easter. They also provide special music for our Annual Renewal Service. Rehearsals are each Wednesday night following W.O.W. at 7pm. Prior experience in choir is helpful, but not necessary.
Wesley Chimesclick here for fall schedule The Wesley Chimes provide beautiful music and support to our worship services once per month with handbells. The group rehearses each Monday evenings at 5:30pm. Christmas Eve is not complete without the clarion sound of our bells! The first Sunday of December & May is dedicated to our bells.
Children's Choirs click here for schedule Our Children's Choir program is a comprehensive learning experience for children. Our staff teaches children the skills needed to read music, understand musical expressions, play rhythmic patterns on instruments and development of good singing technique. If you desire to have your child exposed to a quality program of choral and general music, our church is your answer! The children's choirs meet each Wednesday evening during our W.O.W. experience. The program accepts all children, regardless of experience or skill, ages 4 years through 6th grade. Sign-up on our Event Registration page.
Youth Ensemble The Youth Ensemble is a dedicated group of youth that are committed to offering their voices in worship once a month. Contemporary Christian music is the core repetoire of the group. Rehearsals are held each Sunday evening at 5:00pm just prior to UMYF in the Choir Room. If you are a youth 7th thru 12th grade, you are welcomed to join us regardless of your experience or skill!
